Meet the owners, Quinn Ray and Mary Ellen Crow

Quinn and Mary Ellen’s story shows how serendipity and yoga can come together in unexpected and wonderful ways. If you ask them, they’ll tell you that yoga is at the heart of their entire relationship, shaping not only their bond but also their health and well-being.

Their friendship blossomed as they taught at Horizon Hot Yoga, back when ownership was in different hands. Like all dreamers, they’d talk about someday owning their own studio together. It sounded far-fetched, until Quinn, brave and a little bold, simply asked if the owners wanted to sell. Suddenly, their daydreams had legs, and the real adventure began.

Yoga is a lifelong journey of transformation. They continue to live that journey, starting as curious newcomers, growing into passionate teachers, and in 2024, becoming stewards of this thriving studio. Quinn and Mary Ellen have poured their hearts into nurturing the community that first welcomed them, ensuring that the spirit of yoga continues to evolve and inspire everyone who walks through their doors.

Physical fitness has changed the course of my adult life. The enlightenment was so profound, that in 2012 I left my job in the Veterinary Medicine industry to pursue a career as a certified fitness instructor. I began teaching corporate fitness classes and personal training. In 2015, a friend encouraged me to try yoga, and I was hooked!

As my personal practice deepens, I recognize how important it is for the body to have a variety of physical challenges. Wanting to share the joy of yoga with my clients, I received my first 200-hour YTT in early 2017. I've been challenging my clients’ bodies and helping to strengthen the mind/body connection ever since.

Yoga is teaching me to enjoy this journey and to trust in myself. My desire is to help others find empowerment through physical accomplishment, and yoga is a wonderful tool. It is truly empowering to have a capable body and a strong mind to guide it. Come to your mat, breathe, and you will discover and grow.

My journey with yoga began in 2019 at Horizon Hot Yoga during a season of my life when I felt disconnected from my body, my confidence, and my overall well-being. What started as a personal search for healing evolved into a complete transformation, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Through a dedicated yoga practice, I lost over 100 pounds, restored my health, overcame struggles with anxiety and self-confidence, and discovered a deeper sense of balance and purpose. Yoga became far more than movement; it became the foundation for rebuilding my life.

In 2022, I earned my 200-hour yoga teacher certification, followed by my 330-hour Original 26 & 2 certification in 2026. In November 2024, I had the privilege of becoming the owner of Horizon Hot Yoga, the very studio where my own transformation first began.

Today, my mission is to cultivate an elevated and welcoming space where students can reconnect with themselves, strengthen both body and mind, and experience meaningful transformation from the inside out. I believe yoga should feel empowering, accessible, and deeply restorative, whether someone is stepping into their first class or deepening an established practice.

What I value most about this work is witnessing people rediscover their confidence, resilience, and sense of possibility. The community I found through yoga changed my life, and it is an honor to now hold space for others as they begin their own journey.

Originally from Indianapolis, I grew up in Chicago, and spent 7 years living in Aspen, Colorado. I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2007 with a degree in Political Science. I moved to Texas with my husband, David, in 2008 and have lived in Celina since 2017. I have two incredible sons, Rylan and Jacob, and am a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Apex Realtors, licensed since 2015.

Ashtanga based practitioner, Jay La Vie, began his yoga journey in 2014. Horizon Hot Yoga is the very first place he began his yoga teaching career, and he continues to consider this studio as his home away from home! “The community, the variety and styles of yoga that we have here are what make this place truly one of a kind!”

Since then, he has taught classes, workshops, and led trainings all over the country and across the world in places such as the South of France to Hawaii and everywhere else in between. His favorite styles to work with are Ashtanga, Power Flow, Rocket Vinyasa, Sacred Geometry, sprinkled with a nice Low & Slow Flow!

“I believe that movement and practice is key to finding a sense of peace within one’s self.”

As a child, I was always active in sports; swimming, track, soccer, so the physical high was all too familiar for me. Early adulthood I became somewhat of a health nut and even more so as a wife and mother, focusing on a healthy environment/lifestyle for my family and me.

Mother’s Day of 2018, my daughter gifted me one yoga session and that was all she wrote. I never looked back. I fell in love with the physical practice and when the opportunity arose, I decided to get my YTT 200. After receiving my certification, I ventured into different styles of yoga and began to really appreciate more of what the practice had to offer beyond the physical part, truly embracing yoga on a different level.

How lucky am I to be a yoga student for life, and to share what I learn with my family and fellow yogis on and off the mat!

Jeannie Miller

See Jeannie’s classes

Jeannie found yoga in 2007 after the birth of her daughter. She had gained over 40 lbs. during her pregnancy, and tried everything to lose the weight. It wasn’t until she started practicing yoga that the pounds began to melt off. What started as an intense physical workout, eventually evolved into something much deeper.

A teacher once told her that yoga is about strength, balance, endurance, and flexibility. She said, “Whatever you struggle with in life, you will also struggle with on the mat”. Those words still resonate with her today.

A lover of group fitness, Jeannie holds a 400-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) certification, as well as a Y4C™ (Yoga 4 Cancer) certification. She is also an Advanced Pilates and Barre instructor and a certified Schwinn ® Indoor Cycling Teacher.

Kari McDonald

See Kari’s classes

My name is Kari McDonald and I teach Vinyasa yoga. I have been interested in fitness, movement and body health for most of my life. I was introduced to yoga early on through a few classes here and there. But I didn’t begin my practice until 2020.

From a young age I knew being active was good for my body. It just felt good to move. It wasn’t until much later I discovered I wasn’t always moving and working out in ways that supported my body long term. I was always sore and my growing lack of mobility was frustrating. When I started doing yoga on a regular basis I realized that a work out doesn’t have to be harder, heavier and faster in order to be effective. Slowing down and being mindful of movement was not only changing me physically in ways I’d never experienced, it was changing my entire outlook on fitness, health and life.

After 18 months of practicing at Horizon Hot Yoga, I decided to begin my yoga teaching journey and received my 200-hour teaching certification. I’ve gone on to add a Yin yoga certification, prenatal yoga certification and a functional kettle bell training certification. I’m continually searching for new ways to broaden my knowledge of fitness and movement because I truly believe movement is a gift that should be celebrated.

Con Pallin

See Con’s classes

Con stepped onto the mat for the first time in 2008, not knowing it would ignite a lifelong journey of transformation. What began as a curiosity during a yoga class quickly unfolded into a practice that brought strength, clarity, and a deep sense of peace. Initially captivated by the physical challenges and the joy of movement, Con soon discovered that yoga offered something far greater, a path to connect body, mind, and spirit amidst the chaos of daily life.

Over the years, yoga became Con’s sanctuary and guide, offering tools to cultivate resilience, manage anxiety, and find stillness in life’s storms. Inspired by the profound impact yoga had on their own life, she felt a calling to share this practice with others.

As a teacher, Con creates a space where students are invited to explore their inner strength, find balance, and reconnect with their true selves. With a focus on mindful movement and breath awareness, their classes are an opportunity to not only build physical strength but also nurture emotional and mental well-being.

Con is passionate about making yoga accessible and transformative for everyone, regardless of experience or background. Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or returning for deeper connection, Concepcion’s classes are an invitation to discover the power of yoga to heal, inspire, and transform.

My journey took flight when my passion challenged me. As an endurance runner and certified coach, I needed to find a way to honor my body on my off days. My heart and body found Yin and I never looked back.

Yoga strengthens and lengthens you each time you step on your mat. As I practiced Yin for many years I felt my body and soul healing itself from the inside out. Tight…opened; short…lengthened; sore…restored; and my soul…awakened. The joy I found sharing asanas with runners led me to seek my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, Yin yoga certification and Childhood yoga certification.

Teaching yoga combines power and grace as we flow; creating inner peace and muscle conditioning. Yoga strengthens and calms your body and mind. Each practice differs from the last. Finding peace with that dichotomy defines yoga. We continue to practice to accept our body, calm our soul and open our heart.

I teach Hot 26 & 2 because I believe this practice has the power to transform both body and mind.

My yoga journey began in 2014 when I joined friends for a vinyasa class as part of a New Year's resolution. What started as a one-time goal quickly became a lifelong practice. After moving to Texas in 2017, I found my yoga home at Horizon Hot Yoga, where I immersed myself in Vinyasa and Ashtanga. Eventually, I was encouraged to try Hot 26 & 2, and I was hooked. The combination of heat, focus, and consistency challenged me in entirely new ways, leaving me stronger, calmer, and more connected every time I stepped off my mat.

Wanting to deepen my practice and share its benefits with others, I earned my 330-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification through the Original Hot Yoga Academy.

Every class reminds me that growth isn't about perfection, it's about showing up, exploring your mental and physical edges, and meeting yourself with curiosity and acceptance. As a teacher, I strive to create a supportive, encouraging space where students of all experience levels can discover their own strength, resilience, and confidence.

I'm incredibly grateful to be part of the Horizon community and to share this practice with such an inspiring group of yogis.

James Stringfellow

My journey into yoga was definitely a drawn out introduction that I dabbled with occasionally. For years I had been lifting mainly, playing different sports, and sometimes a yoga class. I had been playing soccer weekly with my twin brother for around two years and I was constantly getting injured, my ankles felt like they were living in a constant state of sprain. My brother ended up tearing his ACL during a game and I decided I needed to do something where I wasn’t dealing with injuries constantly.

I found an unlimited weekly special at a studio near my house and ended up going 14 times that week. After that I jumped in head first and started to see the benefits of yoga in other aspects of my life I would never have expected. From a health perspective my body started to recover, my allergies weren’t as severe, and surprisingly I felt even stronger than I had lifting all the time. I also started to realize benefits in my work life feeling calmer and more accepting of things that happen, but above all the breathe work helped me to control anxiety and be more comfortable with who I am. Yoga has helped me and I hope to share that with my teaching.

My relationship with yoga began back in 2010 after my very first class, I was able to recognize a special connection to practicing yoga. Through the years I’ve always been able to find something new and special in my practice that spoke to me personally.

In 2024 I completed my 200 hour Vinyasa teacher certification at Horizon Hot Yoga. I now teach Vinyasa classes. Teaching has become a true passion for me, and it is an honor for me to guide my students through their practice and share my passion for yoga.

I got hooked on yoga when I went to my first hot class in 2004. In 2006, I became certified to teach in Los Angeles, then went on to teach full-time for many years, mostly throughout southern California and the great state of Texas. After taking a break from the practice to work through some injuries and do some growing, I now strive to approach both teaching and practicing from a place of patience, encouragement, and consciousness embodiment. I am also a practitioner of the healing modalities Bioenergetic Synchronization Technique (BEST) and The Emergence Process (TEP), and certified as a 200RYT through Dr. Sue Morter’s BodyAwake School of Yoga. BodyAwake Yoga is a practice which anchors consciousness in the core of the body and can enhance and deepen all yoga modalities.

I'm originally from the Bay Area, Danville, CA to be specific. I'm a certified yoga instructor, graduated from teacher training in the spring of 2008.

I owned a small studio after graduation in a town called Orinda, CA until 2010. After my studio closed, I taught full-time (12-15 classes/week) at a variety of studios throughout the east bay until Covid in 2020. I moved to Albuquerque, NM in 2021 and began teaching again in 2022 at Nirguna Yoga,

Over the years I’ve mentored many new teachers and find it not only rewarding, but even more so a privilege to support others through their processes of learning how to lead and engage with students.

I love teaching the practice, it’s played a significant role in my life in ways of confidence, health, connection to self and others. It’s a true gift to be able to serve humanity through the act of teaching.
